⬛ Engineering : In My Perspective!

Engineering in my opinion, is an another kind of living. Specially, the Bachelors. As an Engineering student studying Computer Science Engineering, I have my own perspective on Engineering. On this Engineers Day, I'll be sharing some dimensions of my perspectives on Engineering.

In India, almost 1.5M people do Engineering every year. There are different kind of engineers, doing different tasks in different domains. Together they contribute the most to run the World. World is Gadgetized by Electronics Engineers, Powered by Electrical Engineers, Programmed by Computer Engineers, Built by Civil Engineers and Mechanical Engineers.

In India, engineering is often seen as a ‘default’ option if you're good at science. The journey starts with cracking entrance exams. People might feel, it's a pressure or something like that, but that phase was fun for me! But honestly, some pressure was there too.

Once you're in, The pressure to maintain good CGPA is constant. Exams come frequently, and the fear of underperforming is real. It sometimes feels like you're stuck in a cycle of preparing for the next test or assignment without enough time to actually explore or enjoy the subject. But, other aspect of Engineering life helps us cope-up with these situations. You do have friends. Yo do participate in different activities. You explore other possibilities too. And one thing, Exams are not always so boring. They are fun too. All that we have to do is enjoy every bit of process.

Beyond academics, college life is about learning to juggle multiple responsibilities. Participating in clubs, cultural fests, and technical fests is important for networking and skill-building. Its fun factor also helps us to balance them with the academic load. Sometimes it feels like we're doing a lot, but not really mastering anything. But let's see. Because Former CEO of Apple, Steve Jobs had already said, "You can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something - your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life."

Some of us do find what we love in the middle of the grind. Engineers can pursue innovative careers in coding, robotics, electronics, mechanical design, and other sectors. Finding the time and space in such a rigorous setting to really pursue such interests is the problem. One of the best memories of engineering life is the friendships made throughout long nights of group projects, studies, and dormitory life. Despite the difficulties, we help one another and develop as a team.

Engineering is a path that aids in our professional and personal growth, despite its challenges. It involves not just technical expertise but also the development of tenacity, time management, and collaborative abilities. All I want is that actual learning and creativity be given greater emphasis than grades.

HAPPY ENGINEERS DAY! ⚙️
